
Andrea M. Doncaster
Senior Professional Engineer - Principal
Andrea Doncaster began tertiary education at Acadia University before attending the Technical University of Nova Scotia, where she earned both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Engineering.
Andrea worked in the private sector for 15 years before deciding to strike out on her own. The Engineering Department of Dalhousie University hired Andrea as an Engineer-in-Residence to bring real world experience to the classroom.
The list of awards and accolades are significant. She has also been awarded Engineer of the Year for the Lumber Board for 2019, as well as collaborations on several Lieutenant Governor Award winning projects. Currently she is also serving as a voting member on the Structural Design Committee of the Canadian Commission on Building and Fire Codes

Jessica Goodland
Professional Engineer
Jessica Goodland began her education in the field of Architecture at the University of Manitoba. After working with firms in Toronto, Jessica changed her focus and pursued Engineering at Saint Mary's University and then at Dalhousie University. During work terms Jessica worked for the Yukon Government on a highway project and with Andrea Doncaster Engineering in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Jessica has completed her certification and is now desgnated a Professional Engineer.

Jason Melanson
CAD Manager
Jason is an experienced drafter, with 20 years experience in the world of engineering consulting. Prior to joining Rural Roots, he worked for some of the region’s largest Civil and Structural engineering firms. In addition to production drafting, Jason manages the company’s CAD standards and supervises all of the drafting work. Originally from the Meteghan area, he now makes his home in HRM. Jason is happy to serve clients in English or French.

Mitchell Parker
Engineer-in-Training
Mitchell Parker is a recent graduate from Dalhousie University and was previously with the firm as a co-operative student. He now joins us as en Engineer-in-Training. Mitchell is an avid football (soccer) player and coach with his local team, and enjoys off-roading.

Codie Rouse
Junior CAD Technologist
Codie Rouse is a graduate of the Architectural Technologist programme at the Nova Scotia Community College. Codie has joined our team as a Junior CAD Technologist.
